Dear Honourable Finance Minister,

This is with reference to a representation which was recently received by my office regarding M/s Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS).

I was under the impression, as are a number of people in the country, that IL&FS is a government entity. I must say that I am a bit surprised myself to find out to the contrary.
